This is an Amiga version of the famous "Badger Badger Badger" dance.
You can download the original version of this cool intro at the URL
http://www.badgerbadgerbadger.com. The AmigaOS and MorphOS versions
were done by Mr.X of Barracuda by  using the new amazing Multimedia
Application Layer  "Hollywood" by  Andreas Falkenhahn. Please visit
his web page at http://www.airsoftsoftwair.com.

Lyrics and a wallpaper are also included for more badger fun.

Please note that this dance is most likely too slow on 68k  Amigas.
The 68k version is only included  for use on emulators like WinUAE.
The MorphOS version should be fast enough on Pegasos. A version for
AmigaOS4 is also included now.


WRONG TIMING!!! WHAT CAN I DO?

There's a file called timing.txt in this directory. Open it with
your favorite text editor and modify the number in it. Default is
335. Try to add or subtract 10 or 20 and see if the timing gets
better.

No texture maps or shaders were harmed during the making of this
production. Thanks go to unknown image donors of the Internets and
archive.org for the speech samples. The source will be available on our
homepage (http://www.kameli.net/fit/) so feel free to port it to your
preferred platform if it's not supported already. You may use the source
as you wish on my behalf but because of the mpglib & SDL the license has
to be LGPL.

Some command line parameters even:
-nofsaa      No FSAA (ugly but fast)
-nosound     Silent mode
-w           Windowed mode
-res X Y     Set screen resolution. Only 4:3 modes run correctly.

PS. No, we're not going to start naming our demos fit-0xx, even though it
    seems to be kind of trendy these days

Demo from the Mankind demo group, targeted for PPC Amigas under
Warpos system. A first release was done in october 1999 for PPC/AGA.
This is a fix done in November 2004, that should works with AGA,CGX,
and Picasso with 15 or 16 pixel modes. Also a Window mode
is available for AGA and a special resisable one for CGX.
Note it uses the default AHI mode for the sound.

It is a 2D effect demo, the first steps in the PPC asm world, but
2 or 3 effects are really worth to watch.

The Unbelievable Truth

To view this intro you need the X11 and OpenGL libraries, libmikmod

and GLUT. You probably don't have the versions that the Linux binary

requires, so go ahead and compile yourself (just type 'make'). By

default the prod runs windowed, hit space or give parameter -f to

see it fullscreen. The source is totally free to use and modify, so

no license hassle. Tested on a couple of Linux boxes plus SGI O2 and

Onyx 2. For SGI and other systems edit the Makefile to suit your

config.

Feel free to contact me (Marq) if you'd like to port your demos to

Linux/Unix.

This is an "as is" release of the party version. There are still many things to
do, fix, and improve.

Not really a demo, this is more or less a demonstration of the Odyssey
engine(I'm not giving up, just need time) with a couple of other 3D scenes.

Actually the demo should work on any Os4.1 machine with a Warp3D supported
Radeon, but the sound is horribly destroyed on XE since I removed any form of
workaround for this. A fix (better than the old one) will come in a future
update.

Worked perfectly on Sam440ep, was the projection machine, but I noticed some
sound interruption related to disk acces. Launch demo from RAM if possible on
slow CPU. Will be also fixed in future. 

Sorry for this quick and dirty release, I can't do better before some time.

This is a 5 days project done 100% alone (music included). I also hope to do
better (longer) job in future.

02/24/2016 update

I recently installed Os4.1 Final Edition and discovered many graphics garbage.
It's just bad luck, a very small bug in Warp3D in a quite useless function I
called for nothing.

Ah, please delete your old drawer, all thoses jpg/png files are now useless.
This version is provided with DDS/DXT textures, giving an impressive performance
boost. I can run the demo 1920x1080 on my 9000pro with no major stuttering.

The DDS support was done in a couple of hours, and actually still hardcoded (==
mess).

Universe - #Zero - First AmigaOs4 demo ever

It's a very strange feeling to update a demo 13 years after it's release.
It's also a very stranger feeling to watch it again, as it was no more working since maybe 10 years.

Well. Not much to say about it, it's a very bad demo, done in a couple of days.
Effects were already outdated on release date.

But it's still the Worlds First Os4 Scene Demo, and it will be forever.

BTW don't take the benchmark at the end too seriously. Some parts of the demo, like the credits,
are rendered at many thousands fps, making the average grow. But you can still try to beat this result
with some real hardware: :-)
